Medical Construction — MUSC Clinical Science Building High Risk Infectious Disease Unit

One of a handful of units in the country, this specialized disease unit allows for isolation treatment for highly specialized diseases like smallpox and Ebola. It consists of both patient rooms and support facilities and will be used for training when not in use. The project included demolition, drywall, acoustical ceilings, doors, new flooring, casework, paint, Corian wall panels, hands-free automatic sliding doors, ductwork, plumbing, medical gas, electronic systems, dedicated exhaust system, rooftop package HVAC unit, and structural work on top of the roof to support the new HVAC unit.
